Arts based classes for all ages

Arts based classes for all ages

The Brady Arts & Community Centre programme has a wide range of workshops and classes. Users to the Centre, based in Hanbury Street, Whitechapel, will now be able to enjoy a variety of courses making use of our facilities. We have a new and improved studio theatre, and a Music Studio proudly boasting Apple Macs running Logic Pro software and a state of the art 24 track and outboard equipment for high-level music production. For Film & Video we now have an integrated DV production and post-production multi-media digital editing studio; plus production kits for beginners to advanced users. Our purpose built arts workshop supports our textile printing and fashion workshops. The 180 seat Studio Theatre has movable seating and now also contains a new state of the art lighting rig, with digital sound and lighting equipment installed throughout the space, plus projection facilities for film screenings and conferences. The centre provides a variety of performance spaces, rooms for meetings and seminars, houses a number of community projects, runs a wide range of classes and co-ordinates the on-site exhibition space. Also available is the Resource Bank of equipment, including sound and film projection equipment, stage lighting and musical instruments for hire to community organisations and voluntary groups at affordable rates. The arts programme for young people includes courses such as Urban Dance, Bollywood Dance, Music Technology, Rap, Singing, Drama, Film and Fashion. For adults we have a variety of courses including Printed Textiles and Stone Carving. Come and enrol on one of our excellent courses, take a look around our exhibition space of inspiring community artwork and have some coffee and cake in our new wonderful Café Bite! The Kobi Nazrul Centre, dedicated to Bengali Arts and Culture, has also developed an innovative workshop and performance schedule for both adults and young people, and you can find details in the downloadable programme at the bottom of this page. For further details about youth classes, call Geraldine Bone on 020 7364 7911. For details about classes at the Kobi Nazrul Centre, call 020 7375 1320.
