Event Fund, part of LBTH Mainstream Grants
The Event Fund is Changing in 2017
The Council is moving the Event Fund from monthly to quarterly deadlines. Applicants will need to ensure that they plan well in advance to ensure that they meet the new deadlines.
The deadline for events taking place in April – June 2017 inclusive is MIDDAY Thursday 9th February using the online application form.
Guidelines and Criteria and Technical Guidance for filling in the form can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
The Event Fund is a distinct allocation from the Tower Hamlets Mainstream Grants budget and exists to provide small grants for high quality, public, arts events and festivals. Administered by Tower Hamlets Council Arts, Parks & Events team, it has been operating for a number of years.
The timelines are moving from monthly to quarterly so all future deadlines will be quarterly. The timelines for 2017-18 are as follows:
Event Dates – April to June 2017 – application deadline 9th February 2017
Event Dates – July to September 2017 – application deadline 27th April 2017
Event Dates – October to December 2017 – application deadline 20th July 2017
Event Dates – January to March 2018 – application deadline 2nd November 2017
The Event Fund supports approximately 40 - 50 festivals or events taking place in the borough each year. The maximum amount that can be applied for is £2500 however most awards are in the range £500 - £1000.
It supports a wide variety of projects ranging from film festivals to community festivals including music, dance and theatre events.
These must be arts based events which are accessible to and of benefit to the community.
The Event Fund aims to support organisations to: improve access to arts based events; provide arts activities where few exist; improve the quality of festivals and events in Tower Hamlets; extend the potential of events to develop audiences; encourage participation and increase community involvement.
These are in line with the Council’s key priorities for improving the lives of all those who live and work in the borough, and tackling poverty and social exclusion. It also allows for more adventurous or ambitious programming and supports organisations in promoting community cohesion and cross-cultural understanding.
